Pit & Balcony Community Theatre wraps up its 93rd season with the wildly funny and immersive production of 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche, written by Evan Linder and Andrew Hobgood. This limited-run performance takes the stage June 26–28 at 8:30pm and is presented as part of Pit & Balcony’s After Dark Series, a special lineup of productions that offer bold, unconventional storytelling and unique theatrical experiences.

Set in 1956, 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche invites audiences into the annual quiche breakfast of the Susan B. Anthony Society for the Sisters of Gertrude Stein. As the assembled “widows” eagerly await the announcement of the society’s prize-winning quiche, the unexpected sound of atomic bomb sirens throws their world into chaos. What follows is a hilarious unraveling of secrets, repression, and personal awakenings—all served up with a generous helping of wit and absurdity. Winner of Best Overall Production at the 2012 NYC International Fringe Festival, this play is a tasty recipe of satire, surprises, and self-discovery.

Making her directorial debut is Rhiannon Evans-Hall, who brings a vibrant vision to this comedic gem. The cast features Hope Brown as Lulie, Katie MacLean Peters as Vern, Trashan Donald as Wren, Meghan Campbell as Dale, and Kaeleigh Casavant as Ginny. Audience members will enjoy an immersive experience with seating available right in the middle of the action on stage.
