Event Description: First Ward Community Center will be sponsoring its 30th Annual A “Taste of Soul” Luncheon on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at the center. We will have cooks and chefs from area restaurants preparing the food. Since February 1994, First Ward has hosted this annual event to experience local culture leadership, business networking, and entrepreneurs/vendors. The tickets are $25.00 per person, with all proceeds going towards FWCC Youth Programs. MENU Bar-B-Q ribs, wing-dings, candied yams, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, black-eyed peas and rice, potato salad, sweet potato pies, homemade cakes, peach cobbler, banana pudding, and hot-water cornbread. By popular demand, our special feature will be southern fried catfish. Each year First Ward sponsors a variety of programs and activities to celebrate African American Heritage Month. The A “Taste of Soul” Luncheon is the culminating event whereby we invite the community to celebrate with us. Once again, it will be a taste you won’t forget!
