Toastmasters Harvey Spaulding Club 781 Celebrates its 65th Birthday

Toastmasters Harvey Spaulding Club 781 is celebrating its 65th birthday.
The Club was founded in February 1950. Among the founders was Harvey D. Spaulding Jr., who chartered the club and hosted it in the Saginaw YMCA facility for many years. This was the 2nd Toastmasters club in the State of Michigan.
In 1954 Harvey Spaulding, a volunteer citizen of Saginaw MI, was made a life member of Toastmasters International Club 781.

Another legendary member of the club was Bob Heft of Saginaw who designed the present U.S. flag with 50 stars. Bob Heft was honored officially in the White House by President Dwight Eisenhower.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational volunteer organization dedicated to promoting the skills of public speaking and leadership. It was founded in 1924 and has an unparalleled wide-ranging manuals library for public speaking training in many professional areas such as, Marketing/Sales, Management, Public Relations, Technical/engineering, Drama, Comedy and Literature. Its training program is structured and self-paced. Membership dues are nominal.
