Healthway Compounding Pharmacy Technician Earns State License |

Jacquelyn Merlone C.Ph.T. of Healthway Compounding Pharmacy, located in Saginaw, has earned her pharmacy technician license from the State of Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), Bureau of Health Care Services, Board of Pharmacy. Previously, pharmacy technicians were only required to obtain a state certification to perform the duties of their job. In order to further promote patient safety, the Michigan Senate passed Public Act 285, on September 23, 2014 requiring pharmacy technicians to also be state licensed. Merlone has been a compounding technician for Healthway Compounding Pharmacy for 10 years. Her responsibilities include formulating all sterile compounds in a state of the art compounding lab. She is also responsible for reporting, tracking and trending any and all quality related events at the pharmacy to ensure that the pharmacy is compliant on all standards set forth by the board of Accreditation Commission for Healthcare (ACHC). Healthway Compounding Pharmacy is a specialty pharmacy that formulates prescription medications that are not commercially available Healthway is located at 2544 McLeod Dr. N. in Saginaw, MI. Healthway was the first compounding pharmacy in Michigan to earn the prestigious PCAB accreditation from the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board. Founded in 1985 by Michael Collins R.Ph. FIACP, Healthway is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
