Covenant Cancer Care Centers Offers FREE Mammograms for Uninsured/Underinsured Women Oct. 10

Thanks to the generous donations of many local organizations and individuals to the Covenant HealthCare Foundation CARE fund, the Covenant Cancer Care Center is offering a free breast health screening Saturday, October 10 at the Covenant Breast Health Center, 5400 Mackinaw, Saginaw, MI.

These screenings are available for women who meet the following criteria:
• Age 40 or over
• Are uninsured or their insurance does not cover mammograms
• Have not had a mammogram for at least 12 months
• Have no current breast problems
• Are residents of Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Sanilac, St. Clair or Tuscola County

People who meet these criteria can call 989.583.6278 option #1 to schedule a free clinical breast exam and digital mammogram performed by experienced physicians and technologists. Advance appointments are required between 8am and 1pm, and space is limited.

American Cancer Society statistics show about 95 percent of new breast cancer cases occur in women over 40, and one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Regular screenings for breast cancer can usually detect it at an earlier, more treatable stage. The five-year survival rate among early-stage cancer patients is 98 percent.

Please help spread the word about the benefits of early detection to women in the community- mothers, sisters, daughters, friends and relatives.
